Spaghetti Bolognese

Method

Step 1

In a large frying pan heat up the oil and brown off the chopped onions with a pinch of salt. Then add diced celery, diced carrots and sweat down for another 5mins on a medium to high heat. Add in the beef mince, once beef turns brown add in crushed & diced garlic with Amore D’Italia Spice Blend. After 5 mins of cooking add in knorr beef jelly pot and sun-dried tomato paste. Mix well and cook for another 5mins then add 250ml of red wine. Reduce wine for 5mins then add the tin of chopped tomatoes plus half a tin of water. Mix well and let it simmer for at least 30-45mins on low heat. Once bolognese has reduced add a few drops of aged balsamic vinegar (optional). Salt & pepper to taste.

Step 2

Spaghetti takes 8-10 mins to cook. Have water pan on high heat and make sure its salted. Once spaghetti has cooked drain and add each portion to the bolognese, mix well and serve in a pasta bowl. Top with grated parmesan, black pepper and parsley. Serve with a salad and enjoy the rest of the wine with your meal.
